I have had the honour of representing Dublin South for the last nine years. I am now asking for your vote so I can continue that work in the next Dáil.
Recent years have been tumultuous for our country. We have learnt to our cost that short term thinking in both politics and economics does not work.
I took seriously my own responsibility as a TD and a Minister to try and guide our country out of its difficulty on to a sustainable path to recovery. That work has given me real experience which I can use to good effect in the next Dáil.
In my own Department, I was able to develop new clean energy industries. The policy decisions I took helped to create thousands of new jobs in our growing digital economy. We now need to push those initiatives further to ensure our national recovery.
We need a new approach to politics. I will work constructively with all parties to make that happen. I will put all my energy into restoring trust in our political system and pride in our country.
So I am asking for your number one vote in this election to help achieve that goal.
