Save Money, Save Energy – The National Energy Efficiency Action Plan
I had the honor of launching The National Energy Efficiency Action Plan with energy efficiency expert Amory Lovins, Cofounder Chairman, and Chief Scientist of Rocky Mountain Institute www.rmi.org.
Currently one fifth of all our energy is unused. Such waste with an expensive commodity makes no sense. The National Energy Efficiency Action Plan will change the way we use energy over the next ten years. It will bring:
- €1.6 billion per anum is money that our economy could do with at this time.
- 20% energy saving across all sectors with 33% savings in public sector
- Savings in residential area equivalent of removing 400,000 homes
- Savings in transport equivalent 325,000 cars
- carbon emissions reductions that will help us meet our Kyoto targets.
