Delivering Broadband in Dublin South
The next generation of broadband speeds are already starting to be delivered in Dublin South. Eircom have tested higher speed Fibre to the Cabinet systems in Dundrum, Sandyford and Ballyboden which will provide up to 25megabits per second.
UPC is currently upgrading their cable network to provide high speed services across the constituency. Below is a list of areas they are covering.
Dundrum Area
Ballinteer 1 (Completed) – Released to Sales
Nutgrove (Completed) – Released to Sales
Dundrum (Completed) – Released to Sales
Ballally (Completed – Loc WiP) - Majority of ring released some Limit of construction being carried out
Goatstown (WiP) - Work in progress, due for release to Sales in June
Ballinteer 1 Not Scheduled > 50% bb area - May be part of accelerated plan in 2010 (TBC)
Sandyford Area
Leopardstown (Scheduled 2009) - Planned release December 09
Ticknock Not Scheduled > 50% bb area - May be part of accelerated plan in 2010 (TBC)
